Swap Week: Orientation and Nicole's New Classes
by RogerGirl
The next morning Nicole woke up much earlier than usual. She went to the bathroom and brushed her teeth, then peed, and took a shower. She took extra time to wash everywhere as she wanted to look and smell good for her first day. After her shower she took extra time making sure the seams of her breasts blended perfectly and took extra time on drying her hair. She put on a new deodorant she had bought then went to her dresser and took out a black bra and matching thong panties and put them on. While the thong felt uncomfortable, she wore it because they were the kind of underwear her new persona would wear. She then went to pick out her outfit. While Nick would just wear jeans and a t-shirt, Nicole knew she had amazing legs and wanted to show them off. After looking through her clothes for a while, including some clothes she had borrowed from her sister, she decided on a brown eyelet skirt that came to mid-thigh, a white blouse, and a pair of 5" platform heels. She had been practicing walking in heels and these shoes made her legs look really good. She also packed a sports bra, extra underwear, a t-shirt, cheer shorts, socks and white cheerleading shoes that her sister helped her pick out for cheer practice at the mall the day before. She put everything into a gym bag, along with a stick of deodorant, then went to the bathroom to do her hair and makeup. She spent extra time making sure she did everything just right then sprayed on some perfume and put on some earrings and a girl's ring. She packed her purse with her phone, new wallet, sunglasses, makeup, a hairbrush, a notebook, and pens and pencils. She also put her laptop into a new laptop bag her sister had bought her and looked herself over in the mirror. She was ready to make her debut as Nicole.
She went to the kitchen to grab a quick breakfast and said goodbye to her dad. Her mom and sister were still asleep because they didn't work until later in the evening this week. While Nick would normally ride a skateboard to school, as Nicole she would need to use the car to carry all of her stuff and it would be hard to ride a skateboard in a skirt and heels. Nicole packed everything into her mom's car, put on her sunglasses, and drove to school. On the way to school she stopped to get an ice coffee at Starbucks, another thing she never did as Nick. When she got to school she found a parking space close to the gym then grabbed her purse and laptop bag and left her gym bag in the trunk for later. Not knowing what to expect since it was her first Swap Week, she began to wonder if maybe she had overdone it and was afraid of what the other students would say. Being a new student she was nervous about how this might affect Nick's status at school after Swap Week was over. She gathered her courage and walked to the main entrance of the school. As she entered the school, she noticed both guys and girls turning to check her out. Surprisingly, nobody got out of line and teased her for looking so good, as she had been afraid of. While some of the Swap Week boys and freshmen Swap Week girls commented on how hot she looked, the older students were committed to their new female roles and remained in character. By now they were used to some of the students being more passable than others. She smiled politely as several more masculine girls, including a few football players, complimented her on how she looked and how she was dressed and admitted they were actually a little jealous that she looked so good as a girl.
"Damn girl," a boy said behind her as she walked along, "You look hot."
Nicole smiled at the boy who had spoken to her. She recognized him as a senior girl named Chastity that she had gotten to know through a few AP classes when she first moved to town. They never became a couple or anything since she had a boyfriend, but they became pretty good friends. For Swap Week, Chastity was going by the name Chase. Since she was touring colleges over spring break she wore a wig this year instead of cutting her hair short as in previous years. She wasn't very convincing as a guy with her small build and soft, feminine facial features, but she made up for it with a somewhat masculine voice, her attitude and the way she carried herself as a guy. This year she wanted to try something different and decided to be part of the jazz band. Growing up she had played a few instruments as a kid, but as her schedule got busy when she got older she had to give up music. She was looking forward to getting to play the drums and guitar again, even if it was just for a week.
"Thanks," Nicole said shyly as she brushed a strand of hair out of her face.
"Hey," Chase responded in a cocky manner, "Don't be shy, you're a total babe this week. You've got to stay committed to your character and remain confident. I know this is all new for you, but with your looks you're definitely part of the cool crowd this week."
"Thanks for the advice," Nicole replied more confidently, "Since I'm still getting used to all this, maybe we can be each other's boyfriend and girlfriend for Swap Week."
"As much as I would like that," Chase said, "I think it's best if you meet someone new. This is a chance to meet new people and explore another side of yourself. If we dated, we would just be holding each other back. In fact, this will probably be the last time we will see each other this week."
As they walked along, Nicole noticed the other students had a variety of different looks. Some had already found new friends while others were walking alone. During Swap Week everyone had a different group of friends and boyfriends or girlfriends than they did the rest of the year. It was like everyone was meeting each other for the first time. While some of the freshmen were joking around, most everyone else took their Swap Week identities seriously. Even those who weren't passable as the opposite gender made every effort to try. While not everyone could speak in the right voice, cover their Adam's apple, grow or cut their hair, or mask their feminine or masculine features, they did what they could to play their new roles in other ways. Some wore shirts with high collars or chokers to hide their Adam's apples. Guys with short hair wore wigs and hair extensions and girls with long hair wore wigs or found styles that allowed them to keep their hair loose or in ponytails. Some of the more muscular guys played on women's sports teams or spent the week as tomboys, while others didn't let their masculinity stop them from playing up their femininity. The same went for the smaller, more feminine girls who either took on roles of drama or science kids or played up their masculinity through acting tough. They weren't just dressing as a guy or a girl for a week, for that week they were a guy or a girl. People often found friends during the week that they would never hang out with the rest of the year and often found their usual friends to be part of different social groups during the week.
Nicole and Chase followed the signs directing everyone to the auditorium. They walked in and saw signs directing people to different booths, a row of tables for students to get their Swap Week ID cards if they didn't have them already, computers to sign up for new classes, and a lounge area for everyone to meet new people. Classes during Swap Week didn't assign any homework and didn't count toward any credits since finals were already over, but were mainly an opportunity for students to try classes they might never sign up for the rest of the year. Nicole and Chase said their goodbyes and Nicole went to the booth to get her new ID card as Chase went to sign up for his classes. She filled out a form using her new name Nicole Anne Schaffer, then posed to take her picture. She sat in a waiting area while they created her new ID card and entered her name into the computer so she could log in and sign up for her classes. They handed her her new ID when it was ready and she looked at her new picture. While Nick's ID had him looking bored with messy hair and no smile, Nicole looked hot with her perfect hair and makeup, and flashing a smile that displayed her perfect white teeth.
She then went to the computer and logged in with her new name to sign up for her classes. After looking through the list she decided to take a list of classes that included cooking, theater, art, fashion design, and photography. While Nick would normally take a lot of math and science courses, Nicole felt these classes would be more inclined to her new identity. Before going to the lounge area she stopped at the booths to sign up for cheer tryouts, which would be held at 1:00 in the afternoon, and for the student council, which was meeting during lunch. Nicole was pretty limber from years of surfing and trying different stunts like backflips and somersaults. Her sister was also going to help her out with the cheers since she had been a cheerleader all through high school.
Nicole walked over to the lounge area and a group of girls waved her over. Among the girls, who were also trying out for the cheerleading squad, was Jennifer Bailey, who most of the year was a drama kid named Jensen Bailey. Jensen was 5'7" with long brown hair that he normally kept in a ponytail. He normally wore all black and generally tried to avoid campus activities. He had a girlfriend in the theater department that he had been dating since freshman year, although this week they were both off in different social groups. As Jennifer her long brown hair flowed down past her shoulders and had been dyed a lighter brown with blonde highlights. Her face was expertly made up, as she had a lot of experience with makeup working on school plays. She was wearing a short pleated skirt and grey blouse, that displayed a hint of cleavage, with a pair of heels that showed off her amazing legs. Like Nicole, her neck was thin with no visible Adam's apple, and she had developed her female voice well through her theater experience. While Jensen's skin was not naturally tan, over the weekend he had gone to the tanning salon so Jennifer had a nice even tan. Nicole found Jennifer to be very sexy, but quickly remembered who she was this week and put those feelings aside.
The group included four other girls, Kelsey, Rachel, Erin, and Tara, who for the rest of the year were a goth kid named Kelvin, a science student named Ray, a swimmer named Aaron, and a debate team captain named Taran. They all looked really pretty and had also grown their hair out for Swap Week. The girls chatted about boys, school activities, classes, and more. Nicole found that she and Jennifer had signed up for a lot of the same classes, cheerleading, and student council. They would soon become BFFs for Swap Week and spend a lot of time hanging out together. A few of the other girls had also signed up for cheerleading as well. As they talked, Kelsey and Rachel discovered they were both interested in the same guy and would become rivals for his attention for the rest of the week. Unbeknownst to the rest of the group and the rest of the school, Erin and Tara would carry on a secret lesbian relationship during Swap Week. Although they both had boyfriends in previous Swap Weeks, they were curious to see what it would be like to be lesbians in their senior year. Eventually, the rest of the girls went to their dance class, which started early, and Nicole and Jennifer continued talking on the couch. While Nicole had wanted to take the dance class, it ran into the time the fashion design course started, and she thought that class might be more interesting.
As they talked, two tall muscular boys walked over to them. They both had short hair and were wearing t-shirts and jeans that showed off their muscular builds. One of the boys was Nathan Hall, who Nicole knew from school as a pitcher on the softball team named Natalie. As Natalie she was attractive in an athletic sort of way, but as Nathan her athletic build made her appear very masculine. She had cut her brown hair very short and had a realistic stubble. The other was a boy named Kyle Pierce, who was normally a video production technician named Kyla. Like Natalie, Kyla had also cut her hair and added stubble. As girls they both had boyfriends, but they were looking forward to trying out their new male identities to see what it was like to be the male in a relationship. They had met on Facebook the night before when they found they were both trying out for the football team. Although the girls stood even with them in the heels they were wearing, Nathan and Kyle were both 6 feet tall. As they walked toward the giggling girls they looked them over thinking with a male point of view. Both girls were sitting with their legs crossed showing off their long shapely legs. They both had thin girlish figures and since both had naturally long hair and pretty faces were prime girlfriend material for high school boys of their status. They had both had girlfriends in past Swap Weeks, but Nicole and Jennifer were by far much better looking than their past dates.
"Good morning ladies," Nathan said smiling, "mind if we join you?"
They both looked up and smiled when they saw the boys. Nicole was still nervous about the dating aspect of Swap Week, but Jennifer invited them to sit down. Nathan sat down next to Nicole, while Kyle sat next to Jennifer. The boys both talked in deeper male voices, as their natural female voices were a bit husky and finding their male voices came pretty easily. They sat and talked for a while about their classes, how they prepared for Swap Week, and about other activities they planned to participate in during the week. Nicole and Jennifer had to excuse themselves to go to fashion design class after a while. Before they left Nathan and Kyle asked them out on a double date for the following night. Jennifer answered for both of them and told them they would be happy to. The boys helped them up and walked them to their class then said goodbye. Nicole was nervous about the date, but Jennifer told her to relax and that she would help her get ready.
Nicole's classes went pretty smoothly. In her fashion design and cooking classes she partnered up with Jennifer on class projects. In fashion design they designed an outfit that they would be creating from scratch the rest of the week. Nicole had never used a sewing machine before, but Jennifer told her she would teach her how. The teacher, Ms. Crystal Cho, was normally Mr. Christopher Cho, one of the younger teachers at the school. While not all of the teachers participated in Swap Week, there were several who did. Not all of the teachers were very passable in their Swap Week roles, but Mr. Cho made a pretty attractive woman. He was in his late twenties, thin, and had soft features. He had dressed up for the past several Swap Weeks and was pretty comfortable as a woman. Ms. Cho taught the class in a fun, enthusiastic manner and dressed very fashionably.
In cooking they learned basic cooking techniques and were told by the end of the week they would be baking a cake. Nicole only had basic cooking skills and was looking forward to getting to eat in class. The cooking teacher was a woman named Mrs. Norris. She was an older woman who enjoyed Swap Week, but did not participate in dressing up. Mrs. Norris was very warm and friendly and reminded Nicole of her grandmother. At the end of the class she gave all of the students cookies that she had backed before class. Unlike Ms. Cho who normally taught science classes, Mrs. Norris was the school's regular cooking teacher and had been at the school for over twenty years. Nicole would later find out that her parents had actually met while in her cooking class.
Nicole and Jennifer were also in art class together, but they had no partners there. Nicole and Jennifer weren't together for theater and photography, since those were classes Jennifer took as Jensen and she wanted to try something new. She met up with Erin in theater and Tara in photography. Nicole learned that Erin was pretty shy as Aaron and was taking theater to overcome her fear of speaking in front of crowds. By the end of the week, Erin was pretty comfortable on the stage and after Swap Week applied this newfound confidence to auditioning as an anchor for the school's daily newscast. Nicole had fun doing improv exercises and creating different characters. She was also looking forward to learning how to develop pictures in her photography class.
At lunch Nicole met up with Jennifer and they went to the student council meeting. They had elections and Nicole was voted President with Jennifer was her vice-president. During the meeting they made plans for themes and activities for the dance and for other activities throughout the week. Although Nicole wasn't normally into this as Nick, she found it fun being in charge of planning and creating events. At the end of the meeting they went to meet up with the other girls they met during orientation in the cafeteria since they didn't have time to go off campus for lunch. Each of the girls had a light meal since they had cheer tryouts after lunch. During lunch they discussed their classes and ideas for activities for the week. After they finished their salads they all got up to go to cheer tryouts and to grab their stuff from their cars or lockers and change. During Swap Week everyone was required to use the bathrooms and lockers that fit their new identities. When the girls went to the locker room to changed they were both surprised at how much cleaner and better smelling it was than the boy's locker room. The girls changed into their sports bras, cheer shorts, socks and shoes, and put their hair into ponytails. They put everything into their new lockers then went to the gym for tryouts.
The cheer coaches instructed all the girls trying out to do various flips, cheers, dances, and stretches. Nicole and Jennifer found they were able to do most everything, but had difficulty with the splits. At the end of tryouts 10 girls were selected to the squad, including Nicole and Jennifer who were selected as co-captains. The girls hugged and were handed orientation packets that included various things for them to practice since they didn't have a lot of time before the games on Thursday and Friday. The girls went to the locker room and changed back into their clothes. They were all nervous about showering together so soon as since they were all really male they knew they would find it hard not to get ideas about the other girls on the squad. While there were gay students at the school, many of them were trying new identities that were somewhat tomboyish such as softball or the girl's basketball team. The girls were also somewhat uncomfortable changing around each other, although by the end of the week they would become more relaxed and some would even use the showers.
After they changed Nicole and Jennifer said goodbye to the other girls and took their gym bags back to their cars. Jennifer suggested they to the field to watch Nathan and Kyle and Nicole reluctantly agreed. They climbed into the bleachers and watched the boys practicing different plays on the field. The boys weren't able to come over and talk, but they smiled at the girls when they waved to them. The girls had to leave soon as they both had jobs they were doing for Swap Week. Jennifer had gotten a job at the Sephora makeup store. The girls hugged and said goodbye and planned to call each other later to make plans for the rest of the week. As Nicole drove home to pick up her mom and sister and to change for work, she thought about how much she was enjoying being Nicole and was looking forward to the rest of Swap Week.
